Private Conversations is a powerful feature that gives users the ability to control and restrict access to specific Thread conversations, providing the highest level of privacy for the appropriate individuals.
1. Navigate to Threads Inbox: From Home, navigate to your Threads Inbox.
2. Select The Thread: In your Threads Inbox, select the conversation that you would like to make private. Once you select it, the conversation will populate on the right side.
3. Make Private: In the Threads conversation, click on the settings icon (3 dots) in the top right. In the settings dropdown, select Make Private.
Once the conversation is made private, no additional users or groups can be added to that Thread. If someone else needs to be added to the conversation, the user who made the Thread private can easily remove the Private Setting via the same settings menu. That person can then add an individual and make it private again. NOTE: The participants in the Thread will all see that the conversation has been made private.
When to use Private Conversations in Synco
- Property sales and acquisitions: when you're organizing your team around selling or acquiring a property, it's often confidential for a period of time before the whole team knows. Making Threads private about due diligence, lending and mortgage documents, etc. is critical for peace of mind as the process gets going.
- Hiring and personnel conversations: PM leaders are often chatting with their HR counterparts for hiring and other people operations issues. Private, real-time conversations in Synco provide faster resolution and confidentiality.
- Any sensitive discussions: For executive level conversations, or strategizing around a company announcement or issue - it's easy to bring a group of people together in Synco but prevent the circle from widening with Private Conversations.
