Read-Only Threads in Synco

How to use Read-Only Threads in Synco

email-readonly

What it is:

Read-Only Threads let you start or convert a thread where only one person - the user who enabled the setting - can post messages. It's perfect for making announcements, sharing updates, or posting important documentation without replies cluttering the message.

Why It's Useful:

Sometimes you need to broadcast information to the team, not start a conversation. Read-Only Threads give you control to keep things focused - especially for company-wide announcements, SOP's, shift updates or other content that doesn't need discussion. When you're ready you can toggle it back to a regular thread with one click.

How To Use It:

To create a new Read-Only Thread:

1. Click "New Thread" from the top-left of your navigation (or in the middle of your screen on the mobile app).

2. Compose your message.

3. Toggle "Read-Only" on at the bottom of the message window

4. Send your message - you'll be the only one able to post messages to that thread while Read-Only is active.

To make an existing thread Read-Only:

1. Open any thread that's in your Synco inbox.

2. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the thread

3. Select "Make Thread Read-Only"

You can turn Read-Only off anytime from the threads three-dot menu to open the conversation back up to everyone in that thread.

NOTE: Users can still react to messages when Read-Only mode is toggled on.
